Teacher: Stephanie Hubach, Research Fellow in Disability Ministries
Families who have teenagers with disabilities often find it challenging to transition from the teen years into adulthood. As high school ends, college may or may not be the next step. Independent living, employment, and new social settings have to be navigated. And then there’s church.
The transition from youth group into adult ministries of the church requires thought and intentional planning to layer in needed supports and adaptations so young adults will continue to grow spiritually and experience fellowship in the body of Christ.
In this online training we will cover:
- Planning ahead for the transition into young adulthood in the church context
- Ways to adapt adult ministries in the church
- Ways to encourage fellowship and serving for young adults
