Teacher: Ashley Belknap, Director of Engaging Disability With The Gospel
Buddies are strategically placed friends who come alongside someone who has a disability to encourage spiritual and relational growth. In this Disability Ministry Conversation, we will discuss when and how to use buddies within the existing ministries of your church. Buddies can be utilized across the church—from worship to Sunday School and with opportunities for fellowship and serving.
Topics we will cover:
- The purpose, role, and relationship of a buddy
- When and when not to use buddies
- Utilizing buddies in various contexts across the church
- How to train your buddies to support the present needs
This training concludes our fall 2023 series of Disability Ministry Conversations. See also Supporting Behaviors: A Gospel-Centered Approach for Everyone and Training Your Teachers.
