Children and student ministry teachers and volunteers often encounter students who struggle with following directions, managing emotions, or responding appropriately in group settings. But how do we know if a student won’t follow instructions or can’t just yet? This training will equip teachers and volunteers with a new lens for understanding behavior, moving beyond simple compliance to see the skills kids may still be developing. We’ll explore practical ways to support both students with diagnosed disabilities and those who may just need extra help navigating social and behavioral expectations. Together, we’ll learn how to respond with patience, grace, and tools that help every student grow.
