Teacher: Ashley Belknap, Director of Engaging Disability With The Gospel
Supporting teachers as they teach Bible content to mixed-ability classrooms is crucial to the long-term health of all students and teachers. Mixed-ability classrooms need a balance of winsome teaching, warm relationships, predictable routines, and at times, a few extra modifications to help everyone grow and thrive together. Our goal in this seminar is to help you equip your teachers!
Topics we will cover:
- Long-term and short-term goals when teaching students the Bible
- Ways to discern the needs of your class (each one is different!)
- Ways to adjust your teaching to the present needs in the classroom
- Creative ways to increase support for students with greater needs
This is the third training in our Fall 2023 series of Disability Ministry Conversations. See also Using Buddies Strategically and Supporting Behaviors: A Gospel-Centered Approach for Everyone.
