The Role of the Deacon in Disability Ministry

September 25, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

ONLINE TRAINING

8 pm ET  |  7 pm CT  |  6 pm MT  |  5 pm PT

Teacher:  Ashley Belknap, Director of Engaging Disability With The Gospel

Deacons are uniquely positioned to serve families with disabilities. Often, deacons are on the front lines of mercy ministry and taking care of the church building – two important aspects for consideration in disability ministry. Yet many deacons have not considered how their responsibilities impact families living with disability.

This online training for ordained church officers will examine existing diaconal roles in ministry and explore the natural application of their labors of love to families touched by disability.

Note: We are also offering a companion training session for non-ordained church members, The Church and Diaconal Care in Disability Ministry, on October 23, 2018. Please visit the event page for that training.

Topics we will cover:

  • The multifaceted role of the deacon in disability ministry
  • Physical accessibility considerations for churches
  • Mercy ministry and caring for families that have unique needs

Click here to reserve your spot for this online training session today! You will receive an email with a login link that is unique to you.
