Book: The Life We Never Expected: Hopeful Reflections on the Challenges of Parenting Children With Special Needs by Andrew and Rachel Wilson
Authors Andrew and Rachel Wilson, parents of two young children with autism, begin by pointing us to the psalms of lament that teach us how to cry to God in the midst of our suffering. Their stories speak of living with the unresolved “why” and fighting for joy in the midst of intense challenges.
Join us as we discuss this encouraging book and the themes of learning to live in the certain hope and steadfast love of the Lord amid our varied experiences of pain and hardship. Even if you do not have a child with a disability, consider joining this book club. Each of us, in some way or another, have had or will have times where we say “this is not what I expected of life/church/marriage/children/grandchildren/jobs/etc.”
