Associate Director, Ministry Communications

Full-Time | 30–40 hours


Digital Communications
  • Create winsome content for 2-4 monthly emails using MailChimp
  • Lead staff and volunteers in generating content that is engaging, up-to-date, with measurable results
  • Manage the posting of content to Engaging Disability’s digital channels, including website, email to subscribers, and social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Manage relationships with contractors, including illustrators and graphic designers
Print Materials
  • Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print collateral including newsletters, toolkits, educational materials, brochures, annual reports, event invitations, and promotional items
  • Provide editorial and design direction, handle quality control and proofreading, oversee production, and create and implement distribution plans
  • Manage relationships with vendors, including printing companies
PCA Church Outreach
  • Assist with initiating and strengthening relationships and collaborations with 1,900+ PCA churches and other disability ministry organizations
  • Assist with developing relationships with leaders who are aligned with Engaging Disability’s mission and purpose
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated success in communications or related field, preferably in the nonprofit sector
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, or public relations preferred. Graduate degree in a related field is desirable
  • Experience developing and implementing communications strategies while balancing strategic and tactical work
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for both print and online audiences plus strong verbal communication skills
  • Excellent graphic design skills for both print and online audiences
  • Proven ability to transform knowledge into exciting and useful messages and disseminate information to targeted audiences through appropriate distribution channels
  • Demonstrate success in directing media campaigns
  • Creative aptitude and familiarity with interactive design, website and social media management, and email marketing strategy
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications
  • Solid computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, database management, and internet research
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership in cross-functional teams and with diverse constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters
  • Strong time management skills and ability to remain flexible to implement multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
  • Entrepreneurial spirit conducive to creating and implementing new initiatives
  • Maturity, humility, professionalism, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence and accuracy
  • Demonstrated commitment to individuals and families impacted by disability
  • Adhere to the Reformed view of the Christian faith
  • Ability to work from home, with a non-traditional schedule, and with occasional travel out-of-town and overnight

Compensation and Terms

Engaging Disability With The Gospel offers a generous and comprehensive compensation and benefits package, commensurate with experience. All staff members are missionaries under Mission to North America of the PCA and responsible for raising their own financial support.
