2021: A Vision by Faith
At its core, Engaging Disability With The Gospel is a ministry engaged in missions. We believe that churches are transformed by enfolding and discipling people with disabilities. As we reach out and bring families living with disability into our church ministries, the entire church becomes more like Christ because of knowing, loving, and serving alongside them.
As a ministry engaged in missions, we also believe that God will faithfully provide for and grow this ministry as we seek to walk and serve faithfully with him. We trust that God will provide abundantly for new ministry initiatives through generous friends and churches who also believe that every church can and should take the next step in intentional ministry to people impacted by disability.
Despite the continuing impact of COVID-19, this is a year of strategic growth that will prepare us to expand our services and more effectively meet needs post-COVID-19. Our strategic initiatives include:
1. GROWING OUR STAFF
Over the past four years, our church and family ministries, online trainings, resources, and consultations have grown tremendously, but our staff has not grown at all! We are looking to add 10 new staff members this year and have 7 in the pipeline already. Please ask God to provide all the people and resources they need to join our staff.
2. ONLINE TRAININGS BECOMING WEBCASTS
We are now simultaneously casting our live, online trainings on social media and are recording them for later viewing on our website. Find them on our Events and Resources pages.
3. NEW MEETINGS FOR CHURCH DISABILITY MINISTRY LEADERS
We now host two meetings for church leaders. The group of staff disability ministry leaders meets monthly and the children’s ministry leader group meets quarterly. Each group inclues critical discussion and sharing creative ideas and resources.
4. NEW Discipleship Resources
We are developing new resources throughout this year that will be sold in our store, Simply the Gospel. Coming soon: visual schedules for Bible teaching at home and at church, boom cards, adapted lessons for kid, and more. Visit our store website to see the latest.
5. MIGRATING TO NEW Electronic Systems
We are bringing online a new comprehensive technological system that is revolutionizing how we keep up with churches and families, receive donations online, and communicate via email all that God is doing. The system upgrade is long overdue and poises us to be more effective for years to come.
